Erin McCarthy
Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
Restorative Wellness Practitioner (Gastrointestinal Healing Arts) United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA) Certified Running Coach Erin is an endurance trail runner, yoga instructor, real food lover, and wilderness adventure seeker. Erin has worked through her own health struggles and training goals, learning first hand that there is no box plan that works for everyone. She was vegan / vegetarian for years and has listened to her body, transitioning from a place where she had digestive dysfunction and could not choke down animal products (now she enjoys them!) to a place where she is adequately fueled for her activities. After numerous injuries, bloating, weight gain and inflammation, identifying deficiencies and areas to improve, she worked though and balanced areas in need. She now loves to share this knowledge and bio-individual approach with others. Erin loves to be with people, has a passion for the outdoors, and dives deep into learning digestion and gastrointestinal healing. Erin helps people to reconnect to their body’s innate ability to heal utilizing the power of real foods.
Erin became a runner later in life, when she was introduced to a “Women Can Run” clinic. She quickly fell in love with the sport and how she felt. After she had a few years of running under her belt, she jumped into coaching at that very clinic. After moving back to their home state of California, Erin began coaching with the local running store, Trkac and inspiring others to get on the trails. She has continued to pursue further running goals for herself, embolden others, and is the current Sierra TrailBlazers Running Club president. She completed Canyons 100k in 2021 as a qualifying race and successfully ran Western States 100 miler in June of 2022. She continues to love the sport and encouraging others to reach their goals. In the effort to seek balance, she equally has a love of yoga and the quieter side of each of us. She enjoys yin yoga and the meditation that breath and movement create. This is her quieter side, but she loves holding space for healing in the studios she teaches at. Erin is married to the love of her life since 1999, Dan McCarthy, and they have raised two boys (Liam and Aiden) to adulthood (whew - tough work!). They are now empty nesters with their sweet pup, Nellie. |
